Well what is the solution for the "standard" underexposure the Mamiya 6 produces? Always set the exposure correction to +2/3 stops as suggested in another forum? Or always meter the ground and use the AEL?

The logo change on the dial does not signify a new metering system. It was just a dial update.

I believe, having studied this recently in buying a Mamiya 6, that there is a version of the M6 with the newer metering system. This version was released after the introduction of the M6MF, as a result of demand from customers who did not want the MF features. The metering system is upgraded. One can tell this newer version by looking at the shutter speed dial. The automatic exposure settings are represented by an "AE" and "AEL" instead of the logos on the older models. I recently bought one of the newers ones on Ebay, and I think this is correct. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Hi
As far as I am aware, the M6 ended production when the M6MF started.
I am not aware of a time when both were produced together but I can't say with 100% certainty that they were not produced together.
Perhaps you could ask the question on the Mamiya America forum at www.mamiya.com. as we are only the Mamiya agents here in the UK and so don't always have 'all' the answers!

Thank you, martink, for your answer. My (misspelled) question was if the production of the Mamiya 6 (without "MF") ended with the introduction of the Mamiya 6MF or was resumed later as I heard (I dont remeber were). Thanx again and please excuse my bad english, Stephan Riel

The metering system on the 6 and 6mf is the same, it does read over a wide area of the viewfinder.
The Mamiya 7 has a 'tighter' metering area.
I am not sure what the MF9 you refer to actually is.

Is it true that the Mamiya 6MF has a somewhat improved metering-system over the original M6? I have the feeling that the tendency to overexposure is (still) very strong if I have some sky in my pictures.
Another question: did Mamiya prodice any M6 (without MF9 after the introdction of the MF? If so, any idea on how to identify thes later models?
Thanx for any input, Stephan
