Ashley,

Due to the difficulty of trying to explain with text, please phone us (Mamiya UK agents) on 01782 753330, so we can have instant two-way communication.

I am a relatively new user to the RB system and the apparently different 'methodology' behind using one. I have just had some prints made from transparencies and I'm not sure if I should be happy with them (sounds odd I know). What concerns me is depth of field and optical quality.
It seems to be a some what approximate method when calculating depth of field (assuming I'm doing it correctly) ... can you read the expected 'dof' off the floating element ring on for example the 65mm KL lens and then adjust the focusing bellows accordingly ?
The scale seems to be a little imprecise, assume a landscape composition ... according the floating element ring, 'dof' of 1.2m to infinity should be achievable with f32. Now, I assume you need to set the focusing belows at 2.25m to achieve this ? The green line that corresponds to the 65mm lens on the scale becomes thicker as you follow it across to the graduations, my question is where do you read it against the scale ? top edge or bottom edge ?
I hope somebody can advise me on this as I really hope that what I consider to be substandard print is due to operator error or a printing fault ... because if it's not then frankly I'm disappointed with the camera and lenses.

Many thanks to anyone who has read all of my ramblings and more thanks if anyone can answer constructively !
